Marriage & Family

All Ages

Bayside's Marriage & Family Ministry exists to strengthen marriages, and encourage and equip parents with the tools to become intentional Christ-centered families. Our ministry offers parenting classes for expectant parents, MOPS, studies for parents through the teen years, and community groups/family resources.

Sunday AM: May 12 – July 14
9:45am – 11:00am
STE 418

Community group for Single Parents/Blended Families.

The testimonies by many who have attended these classes are extraordinary.

PARENTING WITH AN EX is a course designed (a) to help parents prevent the negative effects commonly experienced by their children following divorce and its ongoing difficulties, and (b) to help restore children who have become negatively affected.

Who attends?
Parents undergoing divorce, recently divorced, or long-time divorced.
Parents dating or in stepfamilies.
Parents with young children or adult children.

Subjects parents have found extremely helpful, even transforming:
How to build great kids even though you and your ex are in conflict.
How to restart a relationship with your troubled child.
How to restore your children who favor their other parent over you.
What to do when the other parent speaks against you to your kids.
How to help your child successfully deal with a difficult—or bad—other parent.

Move from despair to hope.
Learn how to truly build emotionally healthy kids.

Bringing Baby Home presents the work of Dr. John Gottman. This material gives parents research-based and research-tested information for constructively addressing the relationship changes during the transition to parenthood. The goal of this program is to strengthen families by helping couples learn effective communication techniques, skills for conflict resolution, and information designed to encourage parenting techniques that optimize baby’s quality of life.

We love babies, so please bring your baby with you if you deliver before the class starts. There is no fee for this class, however, the workbook is $39 (1 book per family).

This series takes place on Thursday evenings at our Granite Bay campus.

Please send an email to if you are interested in attending or to hold your spot in the next class!

At MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers), we come together as a community of moms and moms-to-be who seek authentic connections, support, and personal growth. We believe every mother should know that what she does matters and that she isn’t alone.

Bayside Granite Bay MOPS is led by mothers of babies to preschoolers, who are passionate about bringing women together to share in the joys and challenges that this season of motherhood brings.

We gather together for a warm breakfast, enjoying encouraging guest speakers, or doing fun crafts while our kids are cared for and making new friends in the MOPS kid’s program. Our group is warm and inviting. A place where you can come – just as you are – to be refreshed and build friendships as a mom because we believe better moms make a better world.

MOPS meets Monday Mornings (Spring Semester starts January 27th)  from 9:15-11:15 am.

*Mom only registration $89 (semester includes your MOPS Intl. membership fee)

*MOPS Kids program (Moppets) is available for 6 months through 5 years, prices are as follows:

No Better Mom for the Job by Becky Keife

No Better Mom for the Job is for any mom who has ever felt inadequate-who loves her kids fiercely but sometimes thinks another mom would do a better job in her shoes. Becky Keife knows the ups and downs of motherhood. And she has learned along the way and from other mamas that it doesn’t work to try to do more or be better. Confidence comes from leaning on the One who made you a mother.
Through these pages, you will discover how to
– exchange negative internal dialogue for joyful gratitude
– identify and celebrate your one-of-a-kind mom strengths
– establish boundaries that set you and your child up for success
– recognize evidence of God’s work in your life and growth in your kids
– and much more

Filled with encouraging stories and practical, biblical wisdom, each chapter also includes one simple action step and a powerful prayer, all to help you see yourself as exactly the mom your child needs.

Winning the Heart of your Child, 9 Keys to Building a Positive Lifelong Relationship With Your Kids by Mike Berry

Many of us enter parenthood with a perfect vision of what our family will be. But along the way we discover that the children we’ve been blessed with are real human beings, with their own minds, ideals, and views of the world. Our influence only goes so far, and when those children reach the pre-teen and teenage years, it may seem to have disappeared completely. Yet at no time in a kid’s life is their parents’ positive, godly influence more critical. Mike Berry offers parents nine keys to maximizing and leveraging their influence to help their children through these difficult years and develop a relationship with them that can weather any storm.

The Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) is a unique intervention model created by developmental psychologists Dr. Karyn Purvis and Dr. David Cross, founders of the Institute of Child Development at Texas Christian University. It is based on more than a decade of research and hands on work with vulnerable children and their families.

TBRI offers in-depth training for parents of children with trauma-based behavioral issues. Children that have experienced abuse, neglect, abandonment, and/or trauma in early development can develop behaviors that can be confusing, frustrating, and difficult to manage even for the most patient and loving parents. Come join us and become empowered, connected, and learn lifelong solutions that will build a stronger parent-child relationship.
